Season of Caring / 10 Caring Gifts 2008 update:

On behalf of over 1,700 children in our area who are separated from their parents through no fault of their own, I want to thank the people of our community for their compassion during our Season of Caring and 10 Caring Gifts campaigns. Because of the generosity of hundreds of people, these children had a very special Christmas. They received much more than a toy … they received a message of hope and love, knowing that they are not forgotten and that someone cares.

In addition to providing gifts for children, you helped Volunteers of America care for many individuals in need; the homeless, the hungry, and those still struggling to recover three years after Katrina.  The blankets, Christmas cards to senior adults and our active duty military personnel, food, school supplies, and other items expressed the true meaning and spirit of Christmas. One hundred percent of the dollars donated to Volunteers of America during Season of Caring/10 Caring Gifts went to meet the needs of people in our area.

Even in the midst of difficult economic times, you shared with those in need.  To all the individuals, churches, faith groups, businesses, schools, community organizations, and media partners, thank you! You demonstrated that “there are no limits to caring.”
